Friend, sometimes the biggest thing that holds us back from a better life, is us. The choices, the decisions, the environments that we allow ourselves to be in. Often, others or even God are blamed when things go wrong; although often it is that some have put themselves in those compromising situations. It is like eating too much candy and then being mad after we feel sick afterward. Self-control would have prevented these issues and there is no one to blame but ourselves, when we make these choices. We live in a society where many lack accountability. Thus, the blame game happens or a cycle of self-pity begins. I am not perfect myself and through experience, time and wisdom I have learned this. Friends, God gives us freedom to make choices. It is not fair to blame Him when we make foolish ones. Although we cannot control everything, there are things that we can. The sooner as a society we have accountability for the choices we make in this life, the sooner we can live a more fulfilling life. If you continue to surround yourself in bad choices, things are not going to go well for you. If we know better, we should do and be better. Friend, I say this through my own imperfections from my own sin and I am saying this with love. God has given us instructions on how to live and to walk with Him always. When we choose to ignore Him, we are setting ourselves up for difficulty. This does not go to say that life is always going to be perfect even when we live a good life as we should and walk with God; but it does make everything so much better. It is always better to live our life for God! For when we do, then we are truly living a worthy life, a good life that God has instructed. Friend, there is truly nothing more rewarding and fulfilling in this life but to live it for Him whom gave us it. May we hold ourselves accountable for our choices and live this life walking with God and loving Him, whom loves us more than we can ever fathom.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
