We went to my husband’s friend’s funeral today. He passed away fairly young. I sat some rows behind his mother and as a mother my heart ached for her. However, she wore her love like a badge. A memory for the world to see that the love will still exist; even after that’s all that remained. I watched as she stood tall and strong, trusting on the promise that it is not goodbye. Knowing she will someday see her son again. Faith like that. A friend has a cancer diagnosis and he lives as though he’s well. He makes the most of every day, with the hope of God’s healing power and the trust in whatever God decides. Faith like that. A friend has experienced loss in her life, that I do not want to even fathom. Though, she still praises God and she has not lost her smile. Faith like that. I have witnessed many people throughout my life that have gone through so many trials. The ones in which have an unwavering faith, despite their struggle, their pain, or their loss. Faith like that. Friend, we all have been through things, maybe some of you are going through a hard time right now; please friend don’t let your struggle, drown your faith. I cannot promise that life will be easy, even God did not say it would be. The Bible talks about trust and faith, as reminders for us during those hard times. So we have hope with God, despite our hard. So we can have a faith like that. One that can stand strong on His promises. So we can put our trust in God, completely even when we do not know or understand. Faith allows us to praise God at all times, knowing that He is faithful. Friend, if you are hurting from something in your past, if your heart is currently heavy or you have fear over your future; remember to keep the faith. For when our hearts feel like they are weighted, it is faith that lifts our spirits. It is where we place our faith, that has the ability to lift our burden. It is His hope in our forever, that helps us navigate our today. For when my number comes up I want to know that I had, a faith like that.
