Don’t compare your walk

There are some people around me whose faith is truly unwavering and they are so natural with what they believe. They know the Bible well and they truly walk as God has instructed. If faith had levels like a game; they would be like level 1000. Where there are days where I am at level 100. Friend, life is not a game though and I am reminded that we cannot compare another’s walk with God, to our own. God examines hearts and intentions; if we are doing our best to walk with Him, that is what we need to focus on. Not our neighbors walk, our friend, family member, fellow church-goer or stranger. My husband reminded me of this. There is a woman I know that is a truly remarkable woman. In fact, I know a few of them. Which is a privilege and a blessing to look up to such women. Though sometimes, I feel like I want to be where they’re at in their walk. After having this open conversation with my husband, he reminded me; to just love God and follow Him; not to compare. Faith is not some sort of level to see who gets to the top first. Faith is a walk, sometimes a run, sometimes a leap; though it is a continuation of moving forward with our faith. Friend, if you need a reminder too; know, just keep going forward with your love for God. For a heart that continues to move forward in Faith, is a heart that always reaches their destination with the Lord.

Galatians 6:4-5 NIV

Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.
