The gifts He gives

What is faith, when not done bold

But just a statement, that was told

What is faith, if not in action

But simply a word, with slight reaction

What is faith, if not believed

But a missing out, of what can be achieved

What is hope, if we have it not

But aspirations, that were forgot

What is hope, if we do not believe

In all the things, He can achieve

What is hope, for us if not what gives us drive

What helps to make us feel alive

What is love, if not shared with each other

For it withstands all sorts of weather

What is love, if not given

For it is, what makes all worth living

What is love, but unselfish and kind

Hope for the future, peace for the mind

Faith, hope and love

Gifts from God, up above

Without such, this life would be empty and void

For these were gifts, meant to be enjoyed

Faith, hope and love; how blessed are we

To be given such gifts, so faithfully

The gifts He gives

1 Corinthians 13: 1-3, 13

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
