It can be hard to live the Christian life so desired, when we are surrounded by a secular world. There are many avenues around us trying to separate us from God. Often, the majority of music that plays from various channels fills our minds and hearts with things that do not build us up spiritually. There are so many shows that have little moral compass; yet alone faith- filled nourishment. Majority of movies that are out there, go against God and scripture. Even commercials can expose us to things at times. There is not even safety in books, as there are many out there, that are not appropriate. Different forms of social media are often a massive outlet for immorality. The Bible instructs us to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. This was not a mere suggestion; but a guide to protect us, from the things in which divide us from Him. Friend, though we have less choices for positive and spiritual building from the things around us; they do exist. We must constantly seek out things in which build our character with God; not further separate us from Him. Friend, we must stay centered on God, as to not be persuaded or pressured by the temptations of worldly distractions around us. May we purposefully live with our minds and hearts centered and focused on God. For like flowers blooming through all the elements that try to stop their growth; may we continue to bloom through the weeds, using His heavenly love that nurtures our soul.
