Have you ever watched a child learn to walk? Some seem to just get up one day and run. Meanwhile, some take their time; they slowly take their steps, learning to trust their feet below them. Like riding a bike; some children get on it and take off. Other kids however, beg their parents to hold on just a little longer and to not let go. Or have you watched children on that first day of school? Some wave at their parents and run into the new adventure. Others, cry and beg for their parents to stay with them, as tears roll down their little cheeks. Every child is different in their approach to new milestones, new abilities, new adventures. Though we want to see our children go boldly and courageously; sometimes, we may need to give them just a little more support. That is perfectly okay! For when walking is mastered, what a day of celebration! When they learn to peddle fast past us on their bikes with pride, that moment is incredible for them and us. Though we may be crying on the inside a little on their first day of school; we still want them to be brave as they enter that new chapter. How wonderful it will be for them to learn new things and build friendships. Friend, walking with God can be like all of those things. When we start out new in our faith, some of us are bold and fearless as we proclaim our faith. Others, slowly get there. Even when we are all in for our faith; boldly walking with God sometimes, takes more time with Him. Boldly taking off and spreading the gospel, sometimes takes more time of learning. Boldly starting new adventures where God is calling us, takes a little more encouraging. Friend, as we grow in our faith, we reach new milestones in it. We also learn more about our gifts and abilities and all the things we can do for His glory, through Him who provides. For growing in our faith is always an adventure worth taking. Some of us can bloom a little faster in our faith. Some of us need a little more tending as we grow in our faith; becoming the people God has called us to be. For like children learning new things; we are God’s children learning to walk with Him. Friend, wherever you stand in your faith walk; know, that God is right with you cheering you on. For like we celebrate a child’s growth, God is celebrating with us on ours too. Keep on growing my friend!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
