I lost all of my grandparents on my side of the family, a few years ago. I think about them often. I think of the love that we shared and the memories that were made. Though, I also think of the things that they taught me. Even when I may not have noticed. We can learn much from our elders. It is common these days to not listen to the wisdom of the old. Many find their answers from social media, movies, music, politics. Though I know that there is a lot of wisdom to be found, in those that have already lived much life. For there is much learned, through time. I remember when I was quite young my mom would bring me to nursing homes and I would visit with the old and I always enjoyed it. Even if I did not always know how to respond. I cannot help but to think that even spending time with them, gave me a sense of familiarity and comfort with the old. I have many people in my life that I greatly respect that have been down many roads and journeys. I find conversations with such people great. They seem to understand life more clearly and are not caught up in the worldliness of todays misguided society. Friend, seek out the old; for they can offer much wisdom and guidance. If you are older my friend, please do not hesitate to share your wisdom. I truly believe that we should seek those with wisdom to give and offer our wisdom learned. It is a blessing from God to live a long life, may we offer what has been learned to help younger generations better navigate their life. In turn, may we also listen to the wisdom of the old.
