Kindness in action

My husband looks at me with tired eyes and exhaustion on his face. Yet, he comes home sweetly offering a hand in whatever help is needed. Kindness. My youngest son offers me help as I am laid up with a sore back and my husband is working. Kindness. My oldest son sees me lifting something too heavy and offers a helping hand of strength. Kindness. The neighbor surprises me with vegetables from her little garden. Kindness. I leave the gas station and a friendly smile greets me, with the door held open. Kindness.  All around me whether from home with my loving family, from a thoughtful neighbor, or even a friendly stranger; I have been blessed with the gift of kindness. Often the world’s sufferings get talked about so much, there is little room to celebrate kindness. As if to convince the world that it has gone out of style. Friend, it has not, for God is kind to us. May we not only celebrate His kindness, but the blessings of those he’s placed in our lives to share kindness with us. For when the world tries to convince us there’s little left, remember kindness still exists. For God does exist and where He is, there is always the hope that kindness can prevail, even amongst a world of suffering.
