W.W.J.D

When I was a kid, it was all the craze to wear a fabric bracelet with the initials W.W.J.D etched on it. A little constant reminder for believers, to think about, ‘what would Jesus do’; when given any circumstance through our day to day. I had many of these bracelets, in assorted colors. I loved wearing them! Though I do not wear these bracelets anymore; that saying stays etched in my heart. There are moments that I have been selfish. I am human, though, I am learning to be more like Jesus. Even now I struggle with not being ruled by my feelings and putting others before myself. What would Jesus do? He was always selfless, to His last breath. When I think about reacting with anger, I think, W.W.J.D? Would He react with anger, or would He show grace and lovingly work with the offender for correction? When I feel bitter or resentful, I am humbled. For would Jesus give up on mean people or people that are for things I do not support. Or would He lovingly show compassion and try to encourage them with truth. Forgiving them, as that is what we must do. I think we all know the answer to that. If somebody goes against God and there is no reasoning with them, should we yell and curse them? Or like Jesus, should we know when to wisely walk away and leave them with a prayer. Friend, this life will give us feelings, emotions and it is easy to be led by those. Though, we must use wisdom when handling life and ask ourselves; What Would Jesus Do?
