There are some days in our lives that just stand out above the rest. These may be good days, or bad days. If you are like most of us; a mix of both. The good days are the ones that bring our hearts joy, long after the moment has passed. The place where it becomes a happy memory. The bad ones though, can only be healed; by the healer Himself; God. There are some memories that I go back to and I smile at the beauty of it all. I hold onto them like a treasure. The bad ones though, it is easy to hang onto those like weights, that are much too heavy for us to bear. These memories can be numerous things; a loved one’s passing, a traumatic experience or experiences in our past that have hurt us, pain or sicknesses that have touched our lives in one way or another. Many things we hang onto. Some of these we cannot ever forget, some maybe we should not. Though we must not carry them on our own. It is so important that we place them in God’s hands. Maybe there is a way we can allow God to take the bad and turn it into some good. I know some of my bad, I can use to glorify God on how He always carried me through all the things in my life. I can also take some of my experiences and use it as a testimony to help others. I have found when I do not allow God to carry my burdens, I burden myself with self-pity, where no good comes from. Friend, it is ok to feel what needs to be felt in the hard, but we must lean into God through it; not ourselves. The good days we must hang onto, for they are proof of God’s faithfulness in our lives. Even though we may have gone through some hard things. Friend, I pray that you can release your bad into the arms of Jesus and that He can help carry you through. I pray that as you think of all the days that stand out that are joyful, you can see God’s love for you. Friend, in this world in which we live, we will have good and bad. But life is always better, when we keep God with us through all of our days. For a heart that keeps their focus on God at all times; finds God in all of their days and where God is, life is better.
