The Bible

A little girl shrieks from delight over a Bible that is gifted to her. She cries tears of joy and I cry with her at the beauty of it all. To be that excited about a Bible, how wonderful that is! Often, we do not get excited about the greatest true story ever written. A story and a map that will help make life more meaningful and purposeful. One that can not only nourish us here, but save our souls in the hereafter. Yet, here is a small child exhibiting it’s worth for all to see and to hear. Friend, it is so humbling. How often have we taken our access and freedom to the Bible seriously? Have we ever been as excited as this small child? Although I may know more theology than her; she has got something far greater. A true excitement to learn about God and the greatest book there is and will ever be; the Bible. Though I love the Bible and I love God; am I as excited to learn and read about Him as this small child? Reading the Bible is such a treasure. This little girl reminded me of this. We have such access to the Bible; we sometimes forget its worth. Friend, may we be excited about the Bible. For where our excitement is, is where our hearts find its joy. May we not forget the joy of His word and the gift of the Bible.

Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Romans 10:17 NIV

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
