Staying on His path

Being a Christian can be lonely. Not from the lack of love from God, but from the lack of love in the world in which we dwell. To truly walk with God, is to walk on a different path than this world. Sometimes it feels lonely treading ahead where very few follow. Some of our favorite people in the Bible experienced these very feelings. We have to remind ourselves; that though not many follow along with us, leaving the path of God, will never take us to the right destination. It is better to be an outcast to the world and stand alone, than to stand with the world and be away from God. For this world is broken and will let us down sometimes. God, however, is always faithful. I would rather walk with Him knowing I have a loving Father with me always, than be separated by a broken world. Friend, walking with God can be lonely at times. We are called however, to not be like this world. We are called to love others, that does not mean always walk with them. We are instructed to guard our hearts and minds. God said it would not always be easy. Though it will always be worth it. God will send the right people in our lives to journey down the path that God calls us to. Friend, if you are feeling different than the world around you because you are choosing to walk with God, than you are probably doing it right.

Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Romans 12:2 NIV

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Matthew 28:20 NIV

And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Psalm 119:127-129 NIV

Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold, and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path. Your statues are wonderful; therefore I obey them.
