True beauty

Being unkind is an unflattering trait

It further divides, and drives up hate

True beauty is in the heart to reside

Where the fruit of the spirit, comes from inside

If we were all blind, and character is all that we saw

Would people look the same after all

Or would the beauty, give a change of mind

Its definition, newly defined

If we see ourselves, truly clear

If only hearts could be seen in a mirror

Do we see what only lies skin deep

Or is our value placed in good hearts to keep

For being unkind is superficial

Intentions so artificial

For being unkind, is such an unattractive trait

Meant to further separate

In our hearts, may true beauty reside

The fruit of the spirit, being shown from inside

For we are all God’s creation

Loved by him, given salvation

May we see beauty, the way God does above

A heart when examined, shows kindness and love

True Beauty

1 Peter 3:3-4

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
