Give love

I have to remind myself that we do not love people because they love us. We love them because God loves us, all of us. There are times when we invest so much time in some people, and they may treat us like we do not matter. Sometimes it is nothing personal. Other times we may never know. We are not called to love them because they first loved us. We are called to love them, because He first loved us. Friend, I have invested in many people over the years, many in which have left me feeling like my love was not reciprocated. I love them anyway. Though the dynamic between these people may have changed; I still showed them kindness and love. Friend, we must love one another, even when it does not seem easy or it feels one-sided. God did not say it was always easy and that we would always be loved back. He just asked us to love. Just as He has loved us, despite how we may be at times. Friend, may we love at all times. For how much more beautiful would life be, if we all loved each other as God loves us?
