Breath of life

Our once blue skies, are being overshadowed by clouds of grey. What almost looks like fog around us, are clouds of smoke that is left billowing in our direction. Wreaking havoc in our air, leaving us all longing to be outside again. Longing for that fresh, crisp air; that gives breath into our lungs. As our windows currently remain shut, and our doors stay closed, we wait. Inside of our homes we pray for the fires to be tamed and for no more destruction to be made from the flames that continue to burn. Like life, at times our days may be filled with grey skies, as we search for the comfort of our blue skies. Our days may be a little hazy, as we seek to search past its distortion. Sometimes life will try to steal our breath. Leaving us longing for more breath inside our chest. The best thing we can always do, is to sit in the comfort of our Father. Praying to Him, resting in His safety, reading His word, and trusting that the smoke will at some point settle. Friend, and when it does, despite the smoke that had tried to consume us, we will come out renewed and strong from the ashes that tried to steal our breath. Friend, if you are surrounded by smoke whether literally or figuratively, call out to God. For He breathed life into us and He will continue to, until He calls us home. Take a breath, may His love be the oxygen inside of our chest. Our hope for clear skies and fresh air. For in His love, we are given the very breath of life.
