People are people, and even the best

Can let you down, and make a mess

No one is perfect, not since the fall

How important it is, on God that we call

For as people can at times, let us down

God’s love is constant, His word is sound

Depend on the Savior, whose love is tried and true

Who is always faithful, to me and to you

People are people, perfect don’t exist

Cut them some slack, offer forgiveness

For in this life, with God, up above

We can weather the hurt from people with love

For we too, are just people, imperfect like the rest

Though with God, He can help us be our best

When discouragement comes, from blunder

We must not from God asunder

People are people, but in God we can rely

For He is perfection, where hope is supplied

So, when someone does let us down

May we stand firm in God’s love to abound

For there is peace with Him, no matter what people do

For peace comes from our savior, not what others do to you
