Father’s Day

The Webster dictionary defines a father as a male parent. This definition is utterly vague. Yes, a father is a male parent, but a father is so much more than that. If I were to define what a father is, in the simplest way possible, this is what I would say; Love, guide, protect, and provide. That is a huge responsibility and privilege. A father’s role in his child’s life is substantial. Many studies will show that children that have a good father doing as he should as one, their wives and children’s lives are so much better. For when a father leads as a father is called, his family is truly blessed. Friend, as I watch my husband as a father, I am so incredibly grateful. Just as God takes care of his children. He instructs men, to be the leader of their homes. Loving his family, as Christ so loves us. Guiding His family in the way in which to go in their faith and in life. Protecting their children from the elements of this life and what they cannot protect them from, helping them through it. Providing a home and all that it implies. Friend, father’s shoulder an incredible responsibility. I could go on about the importance of them, as I am sure you could too. Today as we celebrate Father’s Day, may we give thanks to our Father in Heaven and show our gratitude to the men here on earth, he has called to be father’s. For there is something so wonderful about such a title. Thank you, God, for sending such loving father’s here. Offering a glimpse of just how wonderful you are, by the tenderness and care that they give to their sons and daughters.  To all the fathers directing as the Lord has called, Happy Father’s Day!

Genesis 18:19 NIV

For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
