When I was a young girl there was a time where my family was quite low on money and though my brother and I were well cared for; we had little extra to spare. There were these Bible stories on VHS though that were so informative and exciting! I remember begging my dad to buy me more. I did not ask him often for much, but these videos spoke to me and helped me understand God more. I loved watching these videos and I always felt a sense of closeness to God when I did. My dad must have known this. I am still unsure of what he did to be able to afford it, but somehow, he did. I watched the movie’s many times. Captivated by the story told. Friend, my dad seen my eagerness to want to hear about God more. He may have worried about the cost, but he knew that the cost of not feeding my hungry soul was greater. He found a way to help my faith grow and God ensured that bills were paid and that my soul was fed. Friend, may we feed not just our children’s stomachs, but their mind with things of God and nourish their soul with God’s word and His grace and His love. May the biggest investments that we make, be the ones that lead us closer to God. For the biggest expense is not in what we lose in our pockets, but what we lose in our soul; when not filled with the richness of His love. May we go into the world my friend with the richness of His love and His mercy. May we invest more in God and less in earthly pleasure. For true richness is not in the form of mans money, but God’s love.

Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
