Where I live, we had been experiencing a drought. Our once green lush grass, had become yellowed and pricked our feet upon walking on it. Being burned by the heat around it. No matter how many times we had watered our grass, a garden hose could not offer what only rain could. Then, the other day a light rain mist started kissing the grass and even after only a bit of rain, the grass started to perk up. Little bits of green started to peek out again, as the blades of grass began to soften. Friend, I think sometimes when we feel burned by the heat that surrounds us; we start to lose our glow and harden a little. A kind word is like the rain, helping to soothe our hurt and bringing us to life again. Friend, like God sends His life living rain to our world; we too, must speak life into each other. Showing kindness, even when it is hard. God is always with us in all that we weather. Sometimes what He sends us is the kindness from a loved one, or even a stranger. For kindness helps us through the droughts in our life. Friend, may we be whom God has called us to be. Loving one another, with the same love, He shows us. Raining love to others.
