Blessings

Sometimes in our blessings, we still think of the worst

Our own self-pity is what makes hard things worse

We can choose to dwell on the things that do go not as planned

Or we can choose to trust God, whom has the upper hand

When we see through the lens, of blessings that God has bestowed

Instead of being self- righteous, think perfection for us is owed

We can find joy, knowing we are truly blessed in all that we have

How He has given so much, on our behalf

For we live in a broken world plagued with shame and sin

Everything good, we owe because of Him

So may we think of our blessings, and not be so fixated

May we praise Him for what we do have, and not be so frustrated

Find our good, it is there to be found

Look friend, may we look around

Blessings are in the big, there in the small and in-between

When we set aside our self-entitlement, blessings are seen

When our ego tries to get in the way of our blessings, from which God has given

May we find our joy in Him, and truly start living

May we show thanks to Him, whom we owe our gratitude

Who blesses us daily, in multitude
