Truth in Him

My Dad always taught me growing up to be cautious and with whom I allow to help nurture my faith and walk with God. He said be careful with the church you attend, what Christian books you read and the counsel that you take. He always reminded me that some people walk this world dressed as a sheep, though underneath they are wolves. The Bible tells us this, and to be aware of false prophets and teachers. Friend, I am learning a lot more about my faith every day. I have learned much along my journey. I have also learned that if we are walking with God and talking to Him in prayer; He gives us discernment on His truth and how to stay in it. At any given time, there are many resources that claim to help us or to educate us on His word and videos that claim to be faith based. Some are accurate and nourishing for our souls. While others; whether intentional or unintentional, are meant to steer us in the wrong direction. I have scrolled through Facebook shorts and have come across misguided advice. I have scrolled and come across videos that are falsely proclaiming things. I have seen books that are not in align with scripture. Friend, not everyone whom claims to know and love God, truly does. Please tread carefully in the world. Stay in His word, listen to your gut and pray for discretion. God will always reveal His truth, we must choose to listen. He will also in turn, guide us towards people who will actually help us grow in faith. In a world plagued by sin, may we find our truth in Him.
