In the unexpected

My youngest son and I were looking forward to a school field trip. We had eagerly anticipated it and looked forward to it. Then, the day of the much-awaited trip came, and I got sick. Which meant Mama could not go with him on this adventure. Most importantly though, I was happy that he was able to go. I talked to him and he was very understanding and I reassured him that we would plan an adventure for another day, when I was feeling better. Friend, life does not always go the way we plan it in our minds. Sometimes, we need to just pray through it and trust God through it. Through this it also showed my son, that sometimes we just need to make the most if it. My son was also able to see the importance of being there in life for each other and caring for one another. My son watched as my husband left work to take him to school and tend to me. Friend, when your day is a little different than planned; I pray you lean into God and trust him with the unexpected, as much as the expected. For though life can be unpredictable, may we find our peace in our predictable God; knowing He always cares and tends to our every need.

Psalm 46:1-3 NIV

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
