My youngest son made me a Mother’s Day card at school. He could not wait to give me it. It was very evident that he had put a lot of effort into it. Though the colors and drawings on it were beautiful; it was the words that he wrote inside of them that made my heart filled with joy. He wrote, that I was kind because when someone is hurt, I help them. He said that I was nice because when someone is mean to me, I still act nice to them. He also added that I am beautiful, despite me thinking I need makeup, he thought I was pretty without it. Friend, like most of us moms, we wear many hats and have a lot of duties raising our children. There are times we may wonder if they see all that we do for them. Even though we do what we do out of pure love, it always feels good to be recognized. What we do as moms does matter and impact our children’s lives. Not only are we wearing many hats caring for them; we are also setting examples on how to live. I want to note that no mom is perfect and we are all doing our best; learning as we go… The best thing we can especially do is to live a life loving God and show our children what that looks like. I did not expect my son to say some of the things he did. He has been watching me, and what I do does matter. What you do for your children, matters. Please moms do not ever doubt yourself. You have been given an amazing and beautiful responsibility and it does matter. I mentioned to my husband recently that although women have to go through the labor of birth; we as women are so blessed. Our children literally come from us and there is an unconditional love there, because of that. Just as we come from God as His children. Being a mom can be a lot at times; but it is rewarding, exciting, a blessing and a whole lot of love. Friend, I pray you see your worth as a mother, not just today, but every day. You are doing so much better than you realize and your children see it too.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Proverbs 31:25-31 NIV
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
