Sometimes it is hard as a Christian to follow where God leads us. At times it easy to relate to Jonah from the Bible. Though even biblical scholars cannot be fully sure how Jonah’s story ended, I think that is the point. As often, we too, have to choose. We can choose to attempt to hide from God’s plan, though that would be futile. Or we can choose to go where He leads. Friends, when God calls us to something that we do not want to do, it is always best to trust in His plan. God always knows what He is doing, He designed us with a purpose. Not following His call for our lives will only lead to discontentment. It is not always easy to follow where God calls, but it is always worth it. It is better to trust in His plan, than to follow our own path. For trusting in ourselves only leads to havoc. Trusting where God leads us allows for not only the ability to help each other, but find enrichment for our souls. I do not know the rest of Jonah’s life and if after leaving Nineveh he chose to follow God like he should. What I do know is, I would rather follow God, than find myself stuck in a bad place I would not be, if I would have just listened where He had led.

Jonah 1:1-3 NKJV
Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
Psalms 139:7-10
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there, If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
