I sat on the chair as I played with a laser pointer for my cats to joyfully chase. There is something amusing about watching cats with those things. For no matter how many times they catch that red little light, they can never actually grasp it. Their attempts are so humorous, yet pitifully futile. Friend, we are kind of like that. Sin is like that laser pointer. Seemingly fun in the moment yet, in the end, joy not ever being fully grasped. Sin has a way of appearing fun, yet always leaving us empty handed, not ever bearing true joy. For there is nothing to show for sin, but emptiness. Friend, may the light we chase, be the one that leads to true joy, one in which we can truly grasp; the joy that can only come from our Father in Heaven.

Psalm 16:11
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
